John Draper made a presention on interstate water conflicts to a symposium organized by the Law Review of the University of South Carolina. Mr. Draper spoke about states' resort to the original jurisdiction of the U.S. Supreme Court to resolve water disputes with neighboring states. Other speakers on Mr. Draper's panel included the Honorable Henry McMaster, Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina.
The Symposium was titled “Water-Lawgged”: The Muddy Relationship between Water Law, the Environment, and Economic Development." The keynote speaker was Stanford University Professor William "Buzz" Thompson, a leading expert in environmental and natural resources law and policy, and the Special Master appointed by the Supreme Court in the dispute over the Yellowstone River between Montana and Wyoming.
